Great, crazy, adventurous, fun day. My sorority sister Tyler Svetich is now the newest member of the sales team at Capella Pedregal! She got in town today and I went by to pick her up to do some "getting to know Cabo" stuff! We went through the mall and walked around one end of the marina to the other. When she came to visit a month ago, she didn't really get to see anything outside of the hotel because of meetings, meetings, and more meetings. I tried to explain to her how different things were outside the walls of Capella but it wasn't until we walked around that she felt it.
As "gringos," Mexican slang for white people, we are and will forever been seen as tourists. All that was heard as we passed each restaurant, information booth, or random jewelery and cigar sellsmen at the Marina, "heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirls, you wanna come in and try the best Mexican food in Cabo, heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirls you want to go on the best Mexican booze cruize in Cabo, heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyy giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirlllllllllzzzzzz lets put something sparkly on your wrist, or the best... heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrlllllllllllllllllllllllzzzzzzzzzzzz you want a free massage from your new mexican boyfriend?
As anyone could imagine this can get rather annoying especially when there are over 20 restaurants, 10 information desks, and god only knows how many skeeze balls trying to sell cheap shit in a half mile radius. Poor Tyler was truly shocked. It's the most exhausting, and farthest from flattering experience ever! You really don't have the chance to enjoy the beauty of the water, all the boats, or the marine life that surrounds the Marina because of the constant, heeeeeeeeeeey, No Gracias... heeeeeeeeeeey, No Gracias, or of course yooooooooooooo whooooooooooooooo, No Gracias! It cheapens the experience a person has while in Cabo and that's coming from someone who LIVES here... I could only imagine what people who are staying for a week think when they go back to the drawing board of 1. returning to Cabo and 2. if they do, how to avoid the chaos! These people are too ignorant to realize that they are driving away the only positive things this failing economy has, TOURISM. And don't get me started about the children who are sold into slavery by some evil money hungry lunatic, just to POSSIBLY sell stupid whistles and chicklets to black out, puking drunk tourist for a penny at the age of MAYBE 6.
Ok back to the fun part of the day.... Sorry for the rant! After the eye opening experience I knew Tyler needed something American in her life... Since there's really only one good place that can fulfill that need I knew Costco was it!! We went and did some shopping around! Tyler is currently looking for a place to live, but in the mean time lucky girl gets to stay at Capella for 3 weeks! That being said she needed some snacks and what nots! After we made our purchases, we went back to the hotel to try and watch the Bamer game but couldn't so I went to a near by bar as I could tell she was starting to feel the 2 hour time change and was a tiny bit overwhelmed by her first day!!
Tonight wheny Ty gets off work I think we are going to his new favorite bar called Pirate Porkey's, Yes like Porkey's the movie but with girls dressed up in pirate costumes! It really is a fun relaxing bar and just opened up, sooooooo they have some great drink specials going on for their grand opening! Their vibe is very much so how you feel at Supper Club but Mexican.... I'll post pictures tomorrow, including a nice shot of their body shot room, a Mexican Jail equipt with a toilet.... oh the terrible things that will happen as the (hopefully) years go by!
Love
E
