Getting legal!

So yesterday was a big day here at the Thaxton home!! Ty was off work (after 15 long days in the kictchen) and we were super productive! As I have mentioned before our car plates had expired back in April! Since they are California plates and we don't have time to drive up the baja peninsula anytime soon we went with a more local route! We got our Onapoffa which means instead of having actual liscense plates, we have stickers on our windows stating the legality of the car! I still can't drive until I get my legal working visa (FM3) which should be in my hands a week from today!! It's such a huge weight lifted off our shoulders knowing we can drive our car! It's made us realize that you really take things for granted and when you can't use them, that's when you realize their value!!

So it kind of looks weird with out a tag on the back but you can see the sticker on the right hand side of the car!

YAAAAAAAAAA she's legal!!!!!!!!

So after we got the car legalized, we decided it was about time (almost a year) that she needed to make some noise! We bought a nice new radio for the car! That's one thing I've never taken for granted (for obvious reasons...) and have really been pushing for since Ty bought the car! While we were waiting for the system to get installed, we noticed across the stree a little paleteria (ice cream shop) that had a great owner!!!! :D

We can finally listen to the only radio station in Cabo..... PLUS it has an adptor for your Ipod and a USB port for music!!!!!!!!!! ps.... the guy thought I was so strange and such a gringo for taking pictures! :D

I forgot to mention this earlier, the car has also been with out air conditioning. In Colorado, Switzerland, or any place that doesn't reach super high temperatures in the summer..... not a big deal.... in the desert here in Mexico.... can be a little painful! Seriously though it hasn't been that bad because there is a constant breeze here reguardless and an obvious breeze while driving. Ty and I went and bought some freeon at formula 1 and Ty assured he can put it in the car! I of course have no clue how to do it and he seemed pretty confident so I said, what the hell why not! Well.... about 30 mins later and a few "how to" sessions via YouTube later.... we had AC in the car!! Everything was great... nice and cool... then all of a sudden I catch a wiff of something that seems super similar to the smell of gas... I look over at Ty (who also smells it but is choosing to ignore it) and told him it may be a good idea if we turn off the AC for right now... hahaha. After the stereo was hooked up we did turn it back on and only smelt it a little bit but I believe it's time someone professional takes a look at it... Don't cha think so too :D

Before we could get home to relax we took the car to get a nice wash and vaccume, ran to walmart and came home! I tried to get a picture of our nice new shiny car, but typical parking job in Mexico didn't quite allow me to do so!

Ty made an amazing dinner with steak tacos, cheese quesadillas, guacamole, and much more! It was really nice to talk with Haley and Ryan via Skype! We also found very funny emoticons through our webcam.... here's the one's Haley and Ryan could do...

Holy Shit... Ryan's in space........

Guido in Paris

This is Ty's best Steve Thaxton "confused" face... a little more dramatic of course!

Poor Hay.... she doesn't have anything cool to show... besides her freakishly small hands! hahahahahhahahahahaha if you haven't seen the burger king commercial PLLLLLLEASE watch this keeping my sweet sister in law in mind www.youtube.com/watch?v=xu_bE7g2wqM

Yesterday was really what we needed! The car issue is now a huge weight lifted off our shoulders and of course anytime we have the chance to talk to these two it always brightens our day!!!
I surprised Ty with a manicure and pedicure (which was badly needed) and we called it a night! Today it was back to work! I will be on air tomorrow new time at 6:05M, 7:05C, 8:05E, 5:05P (tune in online www.cabomil.com.mx) and also attending my first Los Cabos Tomatoes Group meeting!! This group meets every other Thursday and is complied of women who are influential here in the Los Cabos community!! I am beyond excited about this opportunity!! I really hope they like me enough to accept me in this group! :D Keep your fingers crossed!! PLUS Auburn plays tomorrow and there's a good chance some bar around here will have it on TV!!!!!! :D

Love you all and will fill you in tomorrow!!

  2. hahahahahaha Laura I'm glad you liked it!!! She really is the best!!! We have to somehow be related as well.... you're waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more creative than I am so I'll leave the name up to you!!

Hopefully the cops in Wisconsin aren't as brutal as the one's here in Cabo and there won't be any problems!

Maybe you can just come to Cabo and be on air with me and it will be perfect!!!

Thanks for the comments on the blog... I don't really have any structure to this thing like yours! My goal is to start podcasting shows and create a blog based around the broadcast! Hopefully with a little more research any patience that will happen! Love ya girlie! ps.... do you know about Haley's cockroaches? :D
